| Description: | Polly is ten years old, 13.2hh Exmoor x New Forest. She used to be a super jumping pony easily clearing 4'6" and she was used as a jumping machine with previous owners. Has mild sweet itch which can be controlled with fly spray and a rug. She has suffered laminitis in the past and as currently not in work has not wearing any shoes. Would need shoes if bought back into work as she gets sore front feet on hard ground. Her jumping days are over but she would make a great companion or maybe a hacking pony to calm youngsters. Bomb proof, used to traffic, dogs, cats and chickens. Good to shoe, excellent to load (although not done for four years), good for the vet. Easy to catch although sometimes she will wait for you to go to her rather than walking to you. Her tack is included although not worn for several years, will need a clean and may need refitting. My daughter always used to ride bare back and in a head collar! Micah is an eleven year old (in July) twelve hh and is a Dartmoor hill pony. She is broken to ride but is very green as been mostly a lead rein pony to inexperienced children so rarely faster than a walk. Micah has tack as well but this is like Polly's in that it will need checking to see if still fits as she is not as skinny as she used to be. Micah has had mild laminitis on & off and I wonder if she might have EMS. I have been feeding her as if laminitic and most of the time this works. She really needs to be bought back into work as exercise one if the best ways to keep her sound. Micah is good with my farrier and vet. She has had her teeth rasped with no problem. Never got round to teaching her to load so only time she was loaded she went up with blindfold on but travelled very well. Due to financial problems I have not been able to keep their vaccinations up to date and now find their upkeep a struggle. |
