Large Tropical Setup Including Fish

Saltwater fish such as clownfish, tangs, wrasses and angelfish are colourful, but they are more demanding than freshwater fish. Salinity, temperature and water quality must stay steady, and many marine species react badly to sudden change. Some grow large, some are aggressive to tank mates, and some accept only certain foods, so research each species before you buy. A mature tank with good filtration and a reliable test kit is the usual starting point.

Summer heat is the biggest challenge here. A warm room can push tank water above safe levels, so plan for a chiller or strong fans and a backup power plan for pumps and air. Mix salt water with clean, purified water and check salinity regularly. Ask the seller how long each fish has been in their tank and whether it eats prepared food. For signs of illness such as white spots or rapid breathing, ask your vet, ideally one who treats fish.

Ask whether the fish was bred in captivity or caught in the wild, and ask to see it feeding before you pay. Marine animals brought from abroad need an import permit and health certificate, so check the current rules with MOCCAE or your municipality. On AnimalMarket24, asking prices have mostly been between AED 2,000 and AED 8,000. Ads can include whole setups, so read what is included before you compare prices.
