Dutch Rabbits

The Dutch rabbit is one of the oldest and most recognisable breeds, with a white blaze and collar and coloured cheeks, ears and back. It is a small to medium rabbit of about 2 to 2.5 kg, usually friendly, active and easy to handle, which makes it a good family rabbit. Colours include black, blue, chocolate, tortoiseshell and grey.

Feed unlimited hay, fresh greens and a measured amount of pellets, give daily time to run and explore, and keep at least two rabbits together if you can, because they are social animals. Dutch rabbits have a short, easy coat that needs only a weekly brush. Rabbits overheat easily, so in the UAE keep them indoors in air conditioning, never in the sun or a hot garden in summer.
