1 adsThe Cocker Spaniel is a merry, affectionate and busy dog, usually 12 to 15 kg. Bred as a gundog, it loves sniffing, fetching and being with people, and it can be anxious if left alone all day. It needs daily walks and play, plus gentle training, and it is a good fit for active families.
The silky coat and long ears need regular care. Brush several times a week, trim neatly and keep the ears clean and dry, since damp, hairy ears can cause trouble. In the UAE summer walk early or late, keep the dog in air conditioning during the day and never leave it in a car. Ask a groomer for a lighter trim rather than a close shave. For ear infections, skin problems or eye health, ask your vet.
See the puppy in person (and its mother, if you buy from a breeder), and ask to see the vaccination card. Your dog should be microchipped, have its rabies and core vaccinations and be registered with your municipality or emirate.
