Yorkshire Terrier

The Yorkshire Terrier is a tiny dog, usually 2 to 3 kg, with a confident, feisty terrier character. Yorkies are loyal and quick to learn, but they can be bossy with bigger dogs and bark at visitors. They are well suited to apartments and need short walks and daily play.

The silky coat grows long and needs brushing every day. Many UAE owners ask a groomer for a short puppy clip, which is easier to keep clean in the heat. Walk early or late in summer, check that the pavement is not too hot for small paws, keep the dog in air conditioning and never leave it in a car.
